BHN’s CEO and President, Kathy Abbott, and Board Chair, Kishore Varanasi, presented Boston Planning Department’s Rich McGuinness with a special recognition for his decades of service and leadership in guiding the transformation of Boston’s waterfront.

We were proud to honor our 2025 awardees:

  • The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), recognized for its leadership in expanding climate-ready and accessible water transportation, including new ferry routes, improved service, and investments in fleet expansion and resilient waterfront infrastructure.
  • Alexandria Real Estate Equities and National Development, honored for their transformational redevelopment of 5 & 15 Necco Street and the Lilly Seaport Innovation Center, advancing the Harborwalk 2.0 vision through resilient design, enhanced public access, and strong connections to the Fort Point Channel.
